Through this innovative category-focused approach, Canada 🍁reiterates its dedication to attracting world-class talent, while simultaneously addressing the urgent demand for transportation professionals to enhance the economic landscape. These focused selection processes will be conducted throughout the calendar year in line with general and programme-specific invitation rounds.
1st Category-Specific Draw – Transportation Occupation:
This concentrated approach is directed at pinpointing and inviting professionals with deep-rooted experience in the transportation domain, including varied roles like commercial truck drivers, Pilot and aircraft assembly workers.. With the introduction of an exclusive category for transportation professions, Canada is poised to ease the entry of adept professionals vital for supporting this essential industry nationwide.
On September 18, the Honorable Marc Miller, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, announced a milestone decision: the inaugural set of invitations to transportation professionals under the category-focused approach to Express Entry will begin this week. At present, the official draw has been announced on 20 September.
Express Entry draw number 264 gave 1,000 invitations to apply (ITAs) to candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 435. This draw marked a pioneering category-specific draw focused on transportation profession. This indicates that all candidates selected for this specific draw were selected from certain occupations within the Express Entry reservoir.
The previous draw was revealed a day earlier and was an unspecified program draw, in which 3,200 candidates were invited across all programs without any category-based barriers. The CRS score for the lowest ranked candidate was 531, indicating that every profile with a CRS of 531 or higher was eligible in the Express Entry pool.
