Highlighting a major development, the first-ever STEM draw has been successfully conducted by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
In an unprecedented move, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted its initial category-specific Express Entry draw for individuals within the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
This particular draw marked Canada’s second foray into category-specific selection since the introduction of six novel categories for choosing candidates via the Express Entry system, as declared on May 31.
The most recent Express Entry draw occurred on July 05, 2023, with a total of 500 invitations extended to individuals within the STEM fields. Those who received an invitation needed to have a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 486 to be considered for an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency.
