The Alberta Advantage Immigrant Program (AAIP) has been busy, holding six consecutive Express Entry draws this past August. Regularly, AAIP scours the IRCC’s Express Entry pool to identify candidates that align with Alberta’s PNP streams.
In August, Alberta’s Express Entry draws resulted in a grand total of 647 invitations across the six rounds. Candidates needed at least a 303 CRS score to be in the running for an invitation.

What’s Next for Alberta Express Entry in 2023?
Here’s what’s on tap:
- 25% of the spots will go to people whose jobs are on Alberta’s In-demand Occupation List, especially if they have family in Alberta.
- 50% of the invites will target people working in healthcare, construction, agriculture, hospitality, or tourism.
- 25% will be reserved for the Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway.
How often are these draws?
That depends on how many applications AAIP has on hand. Normally, they do draws every two weeks, but sometimes that changes. Unfortunately, the exact dates for the upcoming Alberta PNP draws aren’t announced ahead of time. But info about completed draws usually pops up around a month after they happen.
