PEI’s Labour & Express Entry
PEI’s Labour & Express Entry stream comprises two pathways for skilled workers and international graduates: the Labour Impact and the Express Entry stream.
The Labour Impact stream caters to skilled workers who possess the required experience and skills in demand by PEI employers. The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program, provides three different categories for candidates to apply under: Skilled Worker, Critical Worker, and International Graduate. Each category has specific eligibility criteria relating to work experience, education, and language proficiency. Similarly, the Express Entry stream of the Prince Edward Island PNP corresponds to the federal Express Entry system, which administers three economic immigration programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Class, the Federal Skilled Trades Class, and the Canadian Experience Class. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria for any of these programs and express an interest in living and working in Prince Edward Island may qualify for nomination through the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program. Once nominated, candidates earn additional points within the Express Entry system, increasing their chances of receiving an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residency.
